Continuing the mission of bringing the Brazilian public sector closer to global opportunities, the Brazil-China Business and Trade Promotion Chamber (CPNCBC) held, in May 2025, an official visit to Mayor Fábio Leite of the city of Botucatu (SP).
The agenda aimed centrally to discuss economic development opportunities and establish fronts of cooperation in infrastructure and sustainability.
The meeting served to present strategic projects for urban modernization, focusing on public transport and renewable energy.
These areas have high potential to receive investments and technological solutions from Chinese groups partnered with CPNCBC, aiming to improve the quality of life in the municipality.
Technical and Educational Exchange
Beyond the infrastructure agenda, the meeting opened a dialogue on initiatives focused on technical and educational exchange.
The proposal is to foster capacity building and knowledge transfer between the two countries, preparing the local workforce for the new demands of the global market.
For the Chamber’s leadership, national development necessarily involves strengthening mid-sized cities.
“Cooperation with municipal governments is essential to transform international opportunities into concrete benefits for the population,” emphasized President Julio Kawano.
Local Economic Diplomacy
The meeting in Botucatu reinforced the Chamber’s role as an agent of local economic diplomacy.
By bringing Brazilian city halls closer to investors and high-impact Chinese institutions, CPNCBC acts to decentralize development, ensuring that innovation and economic growth reach regional administrations directly.
