Meeting at SEPCO1 – Engineering and Innovation in the Capital of Shandong

In Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, the Chamber’s delegation was welcomed by SEPCO1 (Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation)—one of China’s largest and most respected engineering and construction companies, with operations in over 40 countries and large-scale projects in the energy, infrastructure, civil, and industrial engineering sectors.

The meeting focused on the exchange of experiences and opportunities for technical and energy cooperation between Brazil and China, particularly in the areas of energy transition, hybrid power plants, and sustainable technologies.

SEPCO1 highlighted its global portfolio of clean energy and operational efficiency solutions, reinforcing the potential for synergy with ongoing projects in Brazil.

“The exchange of knowledge with world-class engineering companies like SEPCO1 expands the Chamber’s strategic vision and strengthens the foundations for new public-private and corporate partnerships between the two countries,” emphasized the CPNCBC leadership.

Visit to Everbright Environment – Waste-to-Energy in Suzhou

Concluding the day, the delegation visited the facilities of China Everbright Environment Group Limited in Suzhou, a global leader in circular economy and renewable energy solutions.

The Suzhou Waste-to-Energy Project, developed by Everbright in partnership with the Asian Development Bank, is one of Asia’s largest and most advanced solid waste-to-energy conversion programs.

The plant has the capacity to process up to 6,850 tons of waste per day, transforming urban garbage into 350 million kWh of electricity annually—enough to power thousands of homes and businesses, while achieving up to a 90% reduction in waste volume.

This visit reinforces the Chamber’s commitment to mapping global models of urban sustainability and intelligent waste management, expanding the technical and strategic repertoire for future bilateral cooperation and projects in Brazil.

“The Chinese experience in sustainability and clean energy generation serves as an inspiration and a benchmark for new practices that can be adapted to the Brazilian context, yielding environmental, economic, and social benefits.”

Advancing Towards the Future

The mission continues with an intensive agenda focused on technology, innovation, and sustainability, reaffirming the Brazil-China Chamber’s role as an active bridge for knowledge, investment, and concrete opportunities between the two nations.
