Continuing the extensive agenda of trade missions in Brazil, the Brazil-China Business and Trade Promotion Chamber (CPNCBC) accompanied the delegation of the Shandong Commercial Group on a strategic visit to the city of Santos (SP).

The municipality, known for housing the largest port complex in Latin America , is the historical and logistical focal point of Brazilian exports, especially in the agricultural commodities segment.

The mission aimed to deepen the Chinese executives’ knowledge of the Brazilian coffee supply chain, connecting the product’s historical tradition with the contemporary commercial efficiency needed to serve the growing Asian market.

Historical and Cultural Immersion

Before the commercial negotiations, the delegation paid an institutional visit to the Coffee Museum, installed in the building of the former Official Coffee Stock Exchange. The group toured the cultural space that preserves the memory of the bean that drove Brazil’s economic development.

This stage of the agenda served to contextualize the magnitude of the national coffee sector, demonstrating to the Chinese delegation that the excellence of the Brazilian product is the result of centuries of tradition, research, and improvement. For CPNCBC, presenting the cultural dimension of the product adds intangible value to the Brazil brand, strengthening the perception of quality among international buyers.

Commercial Partnerships with Cooxupé

Subsequently, the mission’s focus shifted to business development. The delegation was received at the Cooxupé office for a technical meeting with Evelyse Lopez, the cooperative’s Commercial Manager.

The meeting addressed concrete opportunities for trade cooperation and prospects for expanding exports to China, a market that has shown increasing interest in high-quality coffee.

During the meeting, strategies were discussed to strengthen relations between the two ends of the chain: Cooxupé’s productive capacity and the distribution strength of the Shandong Commercial Group.

The agenda in Santos reinforces CPNCBC’s commitment to acting as an active link between companies and markets. By promoting direct connections with major players in Brazilian agribusiness, the Chamber expands bilateral dialogue and paves the way for national products to gain even more space on shelves and in consumption habits in China.
